Esiankiki means 'women' in the Maasai language. The name reflects our company's mission to celebrate and empower Maasai women within the tourism industry. Our cultural experiences are led by Maasai women who share their traditions — beadwork, songs, dances and daily life — directly with visitors.

The Great Migration river crossings peak between July and October — this is when 1.5 million wildebeest cross the Mara River and is one of the greatest wildlife spectacles on earth. However, the Mara has excellent Big Five game viewing year-round. January to March (calving season) is equally dramatic, with fewer visitors and lower rates.

Yes — hot air balloon safaris at sunrise over the Maasai Mara are one of our most popular experiences. You drift silently at 300 metres over the plains for one hour, then enjoy a champagne breakfast on the bush floor wherever the balloon lands. We arrange all logistics.

Yes, and this is at the heart of what we do. Our Maasai cultural experiences are conceived, led and owned by Maasai women. Visitors spend a morning or afternoon learning beadwork, songs, food preparation and the stories that hold Maasai culture together. These are not performances — they are genuine cultural immersions.

Absolutely. We design bespoke family safaris with programmes suited to children of all ages — junior ranger activities, age-appropriate game drives and family-friendly lodges with appropriate facilities. Many partner properties have minimum age requirements which we discuss at enquiry stage.

Yes. We secure mountain gorilla trekking permits in Rwanda's Volcanoes National Park and Uganda's Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Permits are very limited and must be booked months in advance. We handle all permit arrangements as part of your itinerary.
